Glenn Powell compares his character from the Hulu comedy series Chad Powers to his Scream Queens role, Chad Radwell, calling it “Douchebag Olympics.”

Glenn Powell knows that two of his beloved characters should compete in “Douchebag Olympics.”

It’s been nearly a decade that the 36-year-old Powell (Star) saw Chad Radwell, the egotistical president of Wallace University’s Dickey Dollar scholar at Scream Queens. Now, the actor is back in college and back on the small screen, taking on the role of former star quarterback Russ Holliday on his new Hulu show, Chad Powers.

In the comedy series, Russ infiltrates as the power to step into the South Georgia catfish team, who is struggling with eight years after Chad became embarrassed after a costly mistake at the National Championships.

Powell teases these in interviews with people that “I’m not the two of them who get life advice.”

“The Dutch Bag Olympics is what I call that,” he adds.

When asked if he has a favorite between the two Chads, Powell replies, “No, they’re both so much fun to play. Honestly, I could have said.

But Hitman Star chooses when it comes to being a great guy between Chad.

“I have to say this Chad, Chad Powers, was sweeter, Kinder Chad, and was very inspiring to play,” he explains. “I had time to go to work every day. It wasn’t a bad day.”

In addition to starring Chad Powers, Twisters Star also serves as the show’s co-creator and executive producer. Powell didn’t seek advice from Scream Queens creator Ryan Murphy when creating the show, but he only has his favourite memories of the Fox Horror series.

“I didn’t actually talk about all of this with Ryan, but Ryan is still a great companion,” he says, referring to Chad Powers. “That character, that Chad, was a really special time in my life and I didn’t do much.”

“It was an incredible moment that I was able to be part of this truly amazing cast of all these exciting people,” he recalls the show he ran for two seasons from 2015 to 2016.

He calls the experience “very cool” because he can “keep in touch with a lot of people.”

“I’m so happy to be able to come back to TV like this with such a fun show,” he adds.

Powell admits that “I always loved playing” by taking on the double role that required extensive prosthetics to play Chad.

“I think everybody in this job can feel more comfortable wearing the character, playing with it and doing everything,” he shares. “And with this, I think this is the joy of going to work and being a goofy friend.”

“So we’re in the world I love, college football, and we can work with your peers to create something truly fun that the world thinks will love,” he adds. “So there’s nothing to love.”
