Eric Dane has not given up in his fight against ALS.
The actor was spotted this week in an electric wheelchair at the Washington, DC airport and shared his message to Paparazzo.
“Preserve your faith, man,” Dane replied in a sturdy voice in the footage obtained by the Daily Mail.
The “Euphoria” star also replied, “Thank you, brother.”
Dressed in a black jacket and pants with white Nike sneakers, Dane was pushed out of the airport with the help of an aide.
The two 52-year-old fathers look brave in the progression of his terminal illness, sources told the outlet.
“He truly knows that tomorrow is not promised, so he wants to enjoy what he has now,” the source said.
“He wants to live life and does not want people to grieve him while he is experiencing this terrible illness. He wants people in his life to exist.
Dane’s wife, Rebecca Gayhart, recently spoke about how the illness has affected her daughter.
“I mean, that’s heartbreaking,” Gayheart told people in a comment released Saturday. “My girl is really struggling and we’re just trying to get through it. It’s a tough time.”
“We have a professional therapist who helps us. We have hope with dignity, grace, love and we are just trying to do it,” she continued.
Earlier this month, Dane appeared in a campaign video for the I Am ALS organization to promote accelerated research into neurodegenerative diseases.
The progression of the disease was noticeable as he spoke slowly and occasionally lurped his words. His arms also seemed uncontrollably convulsive at times.
In June, Dane said he was “worried” about losing his leg function after losing all his right arm while talking to Diane Sawyer for “Good Morning America.”
Dane shared that she expects her left arm and hand to only have “a few more months” before she throws it away.
“It’s calming down,” he said.
