Mark Hops has been “thank you” for four years “cancer-free”

Mark Hops said he “is grateful for every day” following his battle with lymphoma in 2021.

In a caption shared on Instagram story on September 29, Blink-182 bassist vocalist 53 wrote that “four years of cancer-free,” Hops “I am grateful for every day and every moment,” on a scenic photo of the sunshine shattering clouds on the hill.

“What’s my age again?” Singer first shared his cancer diagnosis on social media in July 2021, telling fans that he had been undergoing chemotherapy for the past three months.

“I have cancer,” Hoppus wrote. “It’s terrible, I’m scared. At the same time, I’m blessed with incredible doctors, family and friends to take this to me.”

He later shared details about his cancer, telling fans on Twitch, “My classification is stage 4-A of a large B-cell lymphoma. That means, as I understand it, it means I’ve entered four different parts of my body.”

“I don’t know how accurately they will decide that, but I think it’s going to be in enough of my body and stage 4.

As Mayo Clinic explains, it means that cancer “spreads outside the lymph nodes to organs such as the bone marrow, liver, lungs, kidneys, gastrointestinal tract, or nervous system.” However, “large, diffuse B-cell lymphoma that survives is very good for most people,” and the survival rate of that cancer is increasing.
