Jennifer Lopez appeared on CBS on CBS Sunday morning last weekend, talking to Lee Cowan about the impending film adaptation of “Spider Woman Kiss.”
In this role, Lopez worked with costume designer Colleen Atwood. This is the genius behind recent productions such as “Wednesday” and “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.”
In an interview, Lopez believes Atwood helped her “to bring (the character) to life” and describes the experience as “a wonderful collaboration.” She added: “She was very specific about each moment in the film. When she was very specific about it, it quickly put me in the idea.
Using the iconic gold dress soon in the film, Lopez shares the outfit “not always functional.”
“The gold dress was £50,” Lopez reveals. “It was very heavy. When they lifted me up, I tried to move my legs and act. It was a nightmare.”
After all, all the pain was worth the result. “It worked. The way the dress moved and the line of dress. (Atwood) was really a master and it was perfect. We’ll see it on the monitor.
When it comes to heavy ensembles, Lopez is a good companion. Just this past week it has been revealed that Emmy’s Jenna Ortega’s Givenchy top is at the top of 20-30 pounds.
And of course, we can’t forget that the 2015 Met Gala or Carolina Herrera Gaun Gren, who arrived at the Oscars in 2019, measured 42 pounds.
Mark the calendar and take a look at the unforgettable on-screen wardrobe when Lopez’s gold dress and “Spider Woman Kiss” finally make its appearance in theaters on October 10th.
