The 2025 Newport Beach Film Festival (NBFF) announced the honors of the 2025 festival, which will be held at Balboa Bay Resort in Newport Beach, California on October 19th. The Newport Beach Film Festival will be held from October 16th to October 23rd, and will screen 100 feature films from around the world.
This year’s winners include Brendan Fraser (“Rental Family”), Diane Lane (“Anniversary”), and Mark Hamill (“Life of Chuck”). Kerry Condon (“F1”) and Jenny Slate (“Dying For Sex”) will both be awarded the Artist of Distinction Award, Tessa Thompson (“Hedda”) will receive outstanding performance in the acting award, and Noah Schnapp (“Stranger Things”) will receive the Spotlight Award. This year’s Casting Vision Awards were presented to Francine Meisler (“Thinners”, “Delivery Me Me Me Me No May”) and journalist and screenwriter Stephen Gaidos, who recently retired from variety shows 33 years later.
The Honors event will include 10 actors from variety to see a lineup highlighting upcoming actors such as Milly Alcock (“Supergirl”), Ella Anderson (“Song Sung Blue”), Tonatiuh (“Kiss of the Spider Woman”), and Inga Ibsdotter lilleas (“Sentimental Value”). Yamamoto (“Rental Family”), Chase Infinity (“Next Battle”), Jayrikrugo (“Steve” and “Peaky Blinds”).
The 2025 winners will be joined by Best Director Award recipient Lean Johnson, and Scarlett Johansson, who won the Variety Legend and Groundbreaker Award at the Branch Event. Johnson’s film Wake Up Dead Man will be screened at the festival on October 17th.
The ceremony will be filmed for broadcast and aired in the main awards voting window at PBS SoCal in January.
