Jake Knapp is the first to speak out about the death of his girlfriend, Makena White.
In his statement, the professional golfer shares sweet words about people his partner was.
“Makena was a very thoughtful person whose selflessness towards others is something I always appreciate,” Knap, 31, tells Page 6 on Saturday.
He added that she, family and friends have “fun and boring energy” to “miss.”
Knapp also admits that he struggles to navigate the unexpected white loss.
“We shared so many unforgettable memories together. It’s a difficult reality to understand because she’s not with us anymore,” the PGA Tour golfer wrote.
“It’s an understatement to say how difficult it is to handle everyone, especially family and friends, who knew Mak, who deserves privacy and respect during this difficult time.”
White’s friend revealed his sad loss via an Instagram post on Friday to the medical sales representative’s account.
“Makena passed away earlier this week,” the peers shared, “the heavy heart.” “She’s already been deeply overlooked by her father, family, friends and of course (dogs) Nelly and Fergie.”
The cause of White’s death has not been revealed yet. She was only 28 years old.
It appears that she and Nap were still strong this summer.
On August 11th, White shared how proud she is of professional athletes as she concluded this year’s golf season.
“The second year of First Fairway is hugging and watching you survive your dreams,” she captioned the carousel in a photo featuring the couple in her final post just now.
“The second season of the book – I’m forever grateful to have been involved with you on this walk. There’s so much more to come.
The couple reportedly began dating in August 2023.
