Many of our Hollywood favourites boast multiple talents. And while it’s not surprising the singer tries to act or the actor try to direct, seeing the stars pick up the sax never blows our minds.
From Jason Kelse’s impressive saxophone skills to Tina Fey’s flute play, to Steven Spielberg’s love for the clarinet, these stars have proven to be leaning towards instruments. In fact, Spielberg won some of the famous films using some of the clarinets.

Jennifer Garner
Jennifer Garner’s saxophone play skills are no secret. She loves celebrating her teen years with a marching band. But perhaps there are no other moments when she really flexed than when she gave her fellow Reese Witherspoon a musical compliment last year for her birthday.

He can work on a 300-pound man on a soccer field, and he can also fit in a marching band. Jason Kelse proved he can really do it all when he surprised Baltimore Ravens fans by playing saxophone with his team’s band ahead of his September 22 matchup with the Detroit Lions.

Do you remember a particular moment in the 90s when Bill Clinton couldn’t separate from his saxophone? When he played musical instruments at the Arsenio Hall Show in 1992, the 42nd President of the United States (then Governor of Arkansas) surprised the country.

I suspect Steven Spielberg would have won his feature-length debut, Filalite, if his clarinet play skills had not returned to face value in 1964.

Tina Fey is a lot of talented women, and the flute is one of them. MultiHyphenate Creative played it for a year in fifth grade and returned to its woodwind skills when he famously painted Sara Palin on Saturday Night Live.

Only a singular genius like Steve Martin could play banjo on his resume. The beloved comedian actor has made many talk shows appear on the instrument, tearing the sudden Canyon Rangers song “So So Familiand.”
Bruce Willis
Bruce Willis, famous for fighting bad guys on the big screen, often showed his musical side during press appearances and playing harmonica alongside his band The Accelerator. In 2022, his wife, Emma Heming Willis, shared a cool video of the actor jaming with Derrick Richard Thomas at home.

Meryl Streep learned to play the violin for Hart’s music in 1999, as she couldn’t be mediocre, and after eight weeks she picked up crafts enough to convince us that she was a veteran pro.
Courteney Cox
“Smelly Cat” remix? Courtney Cox picked up the piano during the 2020 pandemic, and by February 2021 she was skilled enough to give us the direction of this friend’s theme song.
Dustin Hoffman

If everything had gone to Dustin Hoffman’s plan, the dog actor would have been a classic pianist. However, one acting class and the play of Williams, Tennessee, changed the trajectory of his artistic efforts and led him to a two-time Oscar winner.

How good is Dermot Mulroney on the cello? He is tapped to perform in orchestras for scores in films such as Star Wars and Scream. He said that his prolific work in his relationship with Oscar-nominated composer Michael Jacccino, “I’m in his orchestra and he’s included the great musicians of Los Angeles and I mean, of course, a country that means reaching the world, and I’m sitting in that group.
