Selena Gomez is trying to make her happy just a few years after leaving her health grief, fearing that she might die.
The former child star, currently believed to be worth around $700 million, tied the knot with music producer Benny swing this weekend in Santa Barbara, California, with BFF Taylor Swift present.
The happy couple rented a stunning El Encanto hotel for their guests throughout the wedding weekend, page 6 confirmed. Coastal Retreat is owned by Tinder co-founder Justin Mateen and was once an old Hollywood holiday.
For Gomez, 33, the weekend marks a new idyllic chapter. It’s far from the chaos of her youth.
A sensitive man from a northern Virginia suburb, Blanco has shown Gomez, a child star who has fame on “Berney & Friends” and Disney Channel’s “Witch of Waverly Place.”
“Benny made her believe there was someone out there that would be her biggest fan, not her rival, but her biggest fan forever,” said a well-placed industry insider.
“Serena spent a really, really long time from the way she conditioned herself to be involved and reacted after Beaver.”
Blanco and Gomez both share a love for food. Blanco filmed HBO Max’s “Selena + Chef” in 2020, and fellow Jess Damuck and Gomez released a cookbook called “Open Wide.”
Candice Kumai, who was featured alongside Gomez on the show, told Page 6 that she was excited about the star. “One of my favorite memories was when I joked that both the onion and the boy could make you cry. I encouraged her to go and find “The One.”
The pair make vows in front of the A-listers crowd, including Gomez’s “The Only Murder in the Building,” co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short, but it’s not yet known whether Short’s love Meryl Streep will be there. Paris Hilton and her husband Carter Leum are also believed to be on the guest list.
And while Swift, 35, is out there, her new fiance, Travis Kelce, won’t join her.
Meanwhile, Gomez’s formerly closed friend Nicola Peltz and her husband Brooklyn Beckham would also not be present, Page 6 said.
Following rumors about the Fallout, sources nearby the couple claimed that Peltz was in “pre-production for very strict cinematography.”
Blanco and Gomez were their first friends. They originally met Gomez when he was in a teenager, but they didn’t remember the meetings they had at the time. They got closer after collaborating on the March 2019 song “I Can Can get get.” Blanco – Real name Benjamin Levin – Dressed on the big white teddy bear in the video.
They collaborated again on their August 2023 single “Single Soon.” By that December they had confirmed they were dating.
However, fans initially thought that swings were enough for the star. I urged Gomez to declare online.
The couple was revealed at the 2023 Emmy Awards, and in February 2024, Gomez told Zane Lowe on the Apple Music Show:
In December 2024, they announced they were engaged shortly after they splashed over a $35 million Spanish-style mansion in Beverly Hills.
“It’s going to start forever,” Gomez wrote on Instagram along with a close-up photo of the dazzling diamond ring that Slanco gave her. Swift responded by replying to the post “Yes, I’ll be a Flower Girl.”
The 37-year-old Blanco has been Gomez’s most serious romance since his on-off relationship with Bieber, and future Mr. Gomez was not embarrassed about becoming his wife.
“Every time she sings, I feel it’s so deep,” he said after collaborating earlier this year on an album called “I Said I Love You First.” “What Serena does is what many artists don’t do is not that she isn’t afraid to tell the truth.”
Their coupling is the polar opposite of what Gomez experienced with Beaver, where he began dating in 2011. She was 18 and 16 years old. They finally called it a day in 2018. Later that year, Bieber married his wife, Haley.
Gomez was opened about his relationship with Beaver in 2020 and said he was toxic to NPR. “I’m not rude,” she said. “I feel like I was a victim of certain (emotional) abuse.”
An industry insider told Page 6: “Justin really ruined her head. He made her feel that her success blaming their problems.
They added, “He also had a way to go back under her skin when he thought she was free from him.”
The actress/singer dated musician The Weeknd (Abel Makkonen Tesfaye) in 2017 for about a year, then linked to the original One Direction Heartthrob Zayn Malik who gave birth to a daughter with model Gigi Hadid and drew a Taggart for Chainsmokers.
She is attracted to musicians, but she has been hesitant to date another, industry sources said. “Her security guards were so high that they were rising for a long time after experiencing them with Justin.”
With 417 million followers, Gomez is the most followed woman on Instagram. But behind the perfect photo, she suffers from a series of mental and physical health issues.
In 2013, she was diagnosed with lupus, an autoimmune disease that can cause painful inflammation and swelling.
While talking to Savannah Guthrie about the time, Gomez said, “I’ve reached whether it’s really life or death.”
When she left the spotlight and fought the illness, rumors swirled that she had a substance abuse problem.
“I’ve been through chemotherapy, and that’s what my break is,” she told Billboard in October 2015.
The following year, she was forced to cancel the end of the revival tour due to health issues.
Things got really bad, and in the summer of 2017, she received a kidney transplant by her friend, actress Francia Raisa, donated an organ.
“She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice,” Gomez said.
The star is also open to her mental health. She has been to a total of four mental health treatment facilities and revealed that she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2020.
“I’m always on mental health and I’m always evolving,” she said today in May 2024.
The star’s health struggle seems to have made her unique sympathy, especially for Hollywood.
“Serena is really sweet, warm, loving and incredibly hardworking,” Kumai said.
“It’s her credibility that always shines. She’s a good person to her core. She truly helps others, so she deserves all kinds of love, success and joy.”
