“I love that guy, man,” said the 1587 Prime Steakhouse co-owner. “There’s nothing outside of this building that makes me feel different. We know exactly what each other’s intentions are.”
“What Coach Reid is doing his best is that he is challenging the guys to be in the best shape and I think I love it about him,” he continued. “It definitely helped take my game to another level in that game.”
Rumors suggest that the riff may have begun during the September 21 game between Kelce and Reid against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium after a fierce sideline conflict just before halftime.
It was also not the first time footage of the duo, which won three Super Bowls over the past five seasons, has been splashed across television and social media.
The NFL star made the headline when he became famous for promoting Reid from the field at Super Bowl LVIII in February 2024.
Kelse isn’t the only one who claims that he and Reid are good for each other. At a press conference on Thursday, September 25th, Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones came to defend Kelse, who described his teammate as “a fierce competitor.”

“Sometimes, emotions are shown in the heat of the battle,” Jones explained about the recent passionate exchange between Kelse and Reid. “We sometimes have conflicts, whether it’s with coaches or players… but I think it’s more of a competitive spirit.”
Jones added that all his teammates and coaches “want the best” from the organization. “We all want to succeed. That’s the nature of this. I’m here, so I don’t think it will change.”
Kelse also has the lead in public.
