Priscilla Presley was “infuriating” when her late daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, went through a “personal and financial” crisis and began making life-changing decisions.
Her new memoir, “I Leave You, Life After Elvis,” Priscilla, 80, recalls the moment when Lisa Marie sold 85% of her inheritance, including Graceland.
Lisa Marie, the sole child of late music legend Elvis Presley, came to her inheritance in 1993. By 2005, Priscilla wrote in her book that her daughter was “broken.”
Priscilla wasn’t sure Lisa Marie had received “good financial advice,” but she found out she was “very, very sensitive” to tackle her problems.
In August 2005, Lisa Mary sold almost all of her successions, including her father, Memphis, and Tennessee estate.
Lisa Marie held my personal belongings of the house, the grounds, and the King’s King, but “devast” her mother, who “devastated” the “Elvis legacy” as the companies of Graceland and Elvis Presley create a stream of income.
In addition to being caught up in a financial blow, Priscilla was also “grief” to lose what she considered “emotional home.”
The patriarch writes about opening annex to the real estate and working with Lisa Marie to curate an exhibition of Elvis’ personal items for the public to come and see.
After Lisa Marie passed away in January 2023 at the age of 54, Graceland’s ownership was carried over in the lives of her daughter, 36-year-old Riley Kee, and twins Harper and Finley Lockwood, 16.
Elvis and many of his family are all buried in Graceland, Lisa Marie and her son Benjamin Keefe, who died in July 2020 at the age of 27.
Elvis and Priscilla got married between 1967 and 1963. She welcomed her son, Navalon Garibaldi, 38, along with her ex-boyfriend Marco Garibaldi.
As for Lisa Marie, she married Danny Keau from 1988 to 1994, Michael Jackson from 1994 to 1996, Nicholas Cage from 2002 to 2004, and Michael Lockwood from 2006 to 2021.
