Blake Lively celebrates “Gossip Girl” and turns 18 with sweet throwback photos

Blake Lively feels nostalgic as she celebrates her special birthday.

On Sunday, September 21st, the 38-year-old actress took her to Instagram to share a post celebrating the 18th anniversary of the hit series Gossip Girl.

Lively brought the girl Serena van der Woodsen to television screens around the world with her hit show, premiering in September 2007. She maintained the lead roles alongside co-stars such as Layton Measter, Penbad Grey, Chase Crawford and Ed Westwick until the sixth season aired in 2012.

On Instagram, Lively shared numerous behind-the-scenes images from her time with Apper East Siders

“Summer Gossip Girl is now 18…” she captioned the post.

She continued, “This show was my university. It was my education, my social life, my hard work, my late nights and early mornings, my teacher. New York City and Silver Cup Studio (and sometimes Paris✨) have been my campus for six years.”

“So many memories. What?

Lively took fans behind the curtains of a popular show and got a glimpse into what it would be like to film with their co-stars.

She especially shared a photo of herself channeling Marilyn Monroe with Meester, who was impersonating Aubrey Hepburn. This photo comes from the fifth season, which filmed a dreamlike scene set in Monroe’s hit “Diamond is a Girl’s Best Friend.”

She also shared a sweet photo alongside the actual Ex Badley in the 2007 episode “Hi, Society.” The pair was attached during filming the 2007-2010 series.

Badgley, Crawford, Westwick and other co-stars have been featured in the Post.

Lively also shared a special photo of the late Michelle Trutchenberg, who passed away in February at the age of 39 and played Serena’s crazy Georginas Parks on the show.

“She was electricity. You knew when she entered the room because the vibrations changed. Everything she did was 200%,” Lively paid tribute to Trachtenberg, who posted after her tragic death.

She continued: “She laughed to the fullest at someone’s joke, she faced authority when she felt something was wrong, she cared deeply about her work, she was sometimes violently loyal to her friends, she was big, bold and clearly brave.”

Lively recently reunited with another Gossip Girl co-star. She is alongside Zuzannasizadkowski, who appeared in her Betty Booz Wars Iced Tea ad campaign, playing Blair Waldorf (Maester)’s beloved maid Dorota.

After Gossip Girl finished the run, Lively remained a Hollywood fixture. She starred in a hit movie like a simple favour. It’s a sequel to 2025, another simple favor, and it ends in the shallows of us, the Adalin era, making a cameo with her husband, Ryan Reynolds, at Deadpool & Wolverine in 2024.
