Jordan Sparks says her seven-year-old son, Dana Isaiah Thomas Jr., has inherited her impressive vocal skills.
On Thursday, September 18th, the 35-year-old American Idol alumni took part in the Elizabeth Taylor Night of Commensing event at the Beverly Hills Hotel in California.
The singer admits she was surprised by her little boy, whom she lovingly calls “DJ.”
“When I’m sitting next to him, it’s kind of universe. And I start singing. Then he’s going to join,” Sparks tells people. “I said, ‘I can’t believe this happened. You can do this so I can do it.”

The “No Air” singer says she and her husband, Dana Isaiah, are thinking about how the DJ can help him continue to develop his abilities.
“So now my husband is like, ‘You need to start giving him a voice lesson, baby,'” she tells people. “I sing, ‘Oh, yeah, I think I can do that.’ Yeah, we sing all the time. ”
Revealing their favourite songs to sing together, Sparks said, “Oh, man. When Wicked came out, please. We were singing that high note throughout the house.”

“I want to do that, but I’m not one of the people who want to force him to do that,” she says. “If he one day comes to me and says, ‘Mama, I want to be a singer like you,’ and then we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it. ”

“He’s exploring everything he likes right now, but I’m not going to force him to do what I’m doing.
The “Battlefield” singer welcomed her model husband, 33-year-old husband and DJ on May 2, 2018. At the time, she told people she was “absolutely overwhelmed by joy.”
“He’s everything we imagined, everything,” she added.

Since then, Sparks has been able to get fans a few glimpses of motherhood on Instagram. Recent photos showed her and the DJ posing on the carpet of Lilo & Stitch Movie Premiere.
The pair appeared cheerfully when they greeted Stitch, one of the film’s main character stitches, while behind the wheels of the pink convertible.
“The best day ever! The @liloandstitch premiere was so much fun and the stitch zoomed us! I loved experiencing this with Lilman,” Sparks captioned in a May 18th post.
