The first episode of “Madison” garnered 8 million views in its first 10 days of streaming on Paramount+.
This total marks the largest launch ever for a series from Taylor Sheridan, the super-producer behind such hits as “Yellowstone,” “The Mayor of Kingstown,” and “Tulsa King.” Paramount said “The Madison” also successfully launched Sheridan’s most popular series among women over 35.
“Madison” was the No. 5 most-watched streaming original series by total hours watched during the week of March 13-19, according to Luminate data. This series came out on top when viewed in order of total viewing time divided by runtime.
“The Madison” follows the Clyburn family, originally from New York City, as they move to the Madison River Valley in central Montana in the aftermath of a tragedy and overcome their grief. Michelle Pfeiffer plays Stacey Clyburn and Kurt Russell plays her husband Preston Clyburn. Beau Garrett, Elle Chapman, Patrick J. Adams, Amia Miller, Alaina Pollack, Ben Schnetzer, Kevin Zegers, Rebecca Spence, Daniel Vasinova, Matthew Fox, and Will Arnett also star.
Sheridan will serve as executive producer along with David C. Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yali, director Christina Alexandra Voros, Michael Friedman, Pfeiffer, Russell and Keith Cox. The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions.
“The Madison” has already been renewed for a second season. Pfeiffer, Russell, and Voros spoke to Variety about what fans can expect from Season 2, with Pfeiffer saying, “It’s after the initial stages of raw grief have passed and some time has passed. It’s a confusing and deep rebuilding of what it’s going to be like after everything you knew has come crashing down.”
