“Jeopardy” retained its position as the most watched syndication series on television during Premier Week, making its debut with 7.5 million viewers.
According to Nielsen’s Live + Same Day data, this is up 4% from Premier Week viewers the previous year. Produced by Sony Pictures Television, the Trivia Show was one of seven distributed by CBS Media Ventures to create the Top 10 most viewed syndicate series from the week of September 8th to 14th. The other six were “Wheel of Fortune” in second place, “Inside Edition” in fourth place, “Entertainment Tonight” in fifth place, “Hot Bench” in sixth place, “Drew Barrymore Show” in eighth place, and “Flipside” in ninth place.
Of these seven, five achieved growth in the previous year’s Premier Week. In addition to the 4% bump on “Jeopardy,” “The Drew Barrymore Show” rose 8% to 1.3 million viewers, and after “Live With Kelly and Mark,” it became the second syndicated talk show. Top syndicated court show Hot Bench has achieved its highest premier week in four years, improving 15% last year to reach 2.1 million viewers. “Inside Edition” led the syndicated news magazine series, increasing by 1% to reach 3 million viewers, while “Flipside” rose by 17% to reach 1 million viewers, from its first season.
It should be noted that the Syndicate Series bumped into as compensation for both the assassination of Charlie Kirk, in addition to the standard 24th anniversary of 9/11 at this time of year, as the Syndicate Series celebrated its Monday night football and the 24th anniversary of 9/11. Without these factors, the syndicated series would have had a high viewership rating.
