Propagate Content, producer of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” and “Chopped,” has secured a $50 million investment from Ares Management, allowing the media company to expand its stable of digital influencer-focused content.

Propagate Content, the company founded by Ben Silverman and Howard Owens, says it will “deploy the capital to accelerate our continued expansion across traditional talent management as well as digital, studio and creator expression.” The company said the partnership showcases Propagate’s “strength in bringing digital talent from social to streaming and building into brands and franchises.”

Propagate’s companies include producers Electus, Big Breakfast and Notional, and talent and digital management companies Artists First, Authentic, Select Management Group and Parker Management.

“We are excited to partner with Ares,” said Silverman, Chairman and Co-CEO of Propagate. “They bring us incredible financial acumen, as well as access to growth capital that will fuel the continued expansion of our independent, next-generation studio.” “Every dollar goes directly to accelerating our organic growth, pursuing strategic opportunities and evaluating major acquisitions. We are grateful that Ares supports our vision for the future of entertainment.”

Jim Miller, co-head of sports, media and entertainment at Ares, said: “Propagate is reinventing the dynamics of the entertainment world by leading a digitally diversified talent representation business while consistently delivering premium content across multiple platforms. “Ben, Howard and their team have built a differentiated company that sits at the intersection of the traditional media and creator economies. We are excited to support their ambitious growth plans and help them take advantage of the significant opportunities ahead.”
